Aquaforest Reef Salt 10 kg - Sea Salt

Fully synthetic marine salt created for cultured corals. Its formula is designed to create the best conditions for marine animals. The micronutrients and macronutrients contained in the formula fulfil
the demand of corals for proper growth and pigmentation. After dissolving the salt, freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately. When setting up new aquariums it is recommended that the first animals are placed no sooner than 10-14 days after filling the aquarium.

Instructions for use:

dissolve the salt in previously prepared demineralised water. Water temperature should be about 24°C (75°F). For salinity of 33 ppt dissolve about 390 g (13.75 oz)/10 l (2.7 US gal) of water. Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 min. When the salt is fully dissolved and the solution clear the saline water is ready to use. Keep the salt in a dry and dark place. Once dissolved, use the salt within 5 days. Keep out of reach of children. Product for aquarium use only. Not suitable for human consumption. Safety data sheet available on request.

Aquaforest products are created in the European Union under strictly controlled laboratory conditions to meet the highest quality standards. Each product is created from carefully selected raw components / raw materials in amounts guaranteeing a uniform composition. Each of our parties is tested on ICP-OES before packing the salt. From May 2017, we introduced the possibility that customers could see results online.

How is sea salt tested?

We mix our sea salt (each batch weighing 1 ton - 2204 pounds), we take 3 separate samples from each batch at the production stage for testing. Each of these samples is dissolved in 15 liters (4 US gal) RO water. Our team performs ICP-OES analysis to check whether the chemical composition is homogeneous and to exclude the presence of undesirable impurities. Note: Even if you mix the salt thoroughly, the composition of the packaging / containers may not be identical. Parameters in containers may vary slightly, and a difference of 2-3% is acceptable. These differences arise due to the different physical properties of the mix and the limitations of the available processing techniques. Deviations in measurements are, however, less than the typical tolerance range for tests commonly used by hobbyists.

Recommended salinity for different aquarium types:

Macro and micro elements in the water have different levels depending on the salinity:
